Day 1 Delhi - Leh
Fromthe Delhi airport, board a flight to Leh’s Bakula Airport, at analtitude of 11700 feet. Upon arrival, our tour representative helps youwith an assisted transfer to the hotel. After completing the check-informalities, the day is scheduled for resting for acclimatization to thehigh altitudes of Ladakh, a necessary thing to do. In the evening, ataround 04:30 PM, leave your hotel rooms for visiting the very popularShanti Stupa- erected on a hilltop in Chanspa in 1991, it is whitedome-shaped Buddhist stupa. Next, you visit the Chowkhang monastery-this serene monastery is marked by fluttering prayer flags. Later on,indulge in at the local market of Leh. Day 2 Leh – Indus Valley Tour – Leh (90 km round trip / 7-8 hours)
AfterBreakfast on day 2, get all set for a full day tour of Indus Valley.The attractions that you visit today include the Royal Museum at StokPalace- called the Stok Palace Museum, it offers an insight into theheritage of the region; Thiksey Monastery- belonging to the Gelug sectof Tibetan Buddhism, this gompa is the largest monastery in centralLadakh region, Stagna Monastery- placed on a barren mountain top, themonastery offers nice views of the surrounding area, Changchublingmonastery- better known as Rizong monastery, it was erected in 1829 andis known for its high standards of monastic disciplines and theextremely well-known Hemis Monastery- India’s wealthiest monastery,Hemis is the biggest one too and the site of an annual festival.Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 3 Leh - Nubra Valley (Valley of Flowers) (125km / 4-5 hours)
Onday 3, post an early breakfast at around 08:00 AM, begin your roadjourney to Nubra Valley via the world-popular Khardungla Pass. At analtitude of 18360 feet, it is one of the highest motorable passes. Asyou reach the valley, set your camps at the assigned location. Later on,you visit the silver sand dunes near Hunder village. Hop onto a doublehumped Camel for a memorable camel safari around the place. The nextvisit is to the villages of Diskit and Hunder (80 km round trip / 6-7hours). The road trip in this region is a beautiful one. These placesown monasteries and hot springs. Get a sneak-peak into the lifestyle ofthe locals. Stay overnight at the camp.
Day 4 Nubra Valley - Leh (125 km)
Today,leave the valley early morning after relishing sumptuous breakfast. Themornings here are extremely mesmerizing. Thereafter, visit the tinyyet beautiful Yarab tso Lake, also referred to as the hidden lake. Thiscrystal clear lake is bounded by barren yet beautiful surroundings.After sightseeing, begin your drive back to Leh via Khardungla pass.After arrival, check-in at a hotel. Spend the evening by enjoyingleisure walk in the Leh market. Stay overnight.
Day 5 : Leh - Pangong Lake (135 km)
Onthe 5th day of the tour, leave early morning for Pangong Lake, placedat an altitude of 4400 m. Start driving eastwards of Leh crossingChangla Pass, 17500 ft. Take a route via Durbuk and Tangtse villages inthe Changthang region of Ladakh. Treat your eyes to the scenic beautyall around you. As you reach, set up your camps near the lake side.Finding its place in both India and China, this lake is blessed withenchanting surroundings. The lake has even featured in the Bollywoodblockbuster, 3 Idiots. The brackish water changes color with thesunlight. Enjoy your day here. Overnight stay at the Camp.
Day 6 Pangong - Tsomoriri Lake (240 km / 9-10 hours)
Startyour day early when the surroundings of the lake look even morebeautiful. If you want, you can click some photographs here. Later on,start driving towards Tsomoriri Lake. The largest lake in Ladakh, itlies at an altitude of 15075 feet. You drive up to Kharu and then rightto the Moriri Lake. En-route halt at Chumathang Hot springs. Drive pastMahe Bridge and then drive towards the beautiful Tsomoriri Lake. SpotHimalayan marmots. Evening arrival at the Lake. Check-in at the tentedcamp near the lake. Near the lake, you can spot as many as 34 avifaunaspecies. The lake has been declared a Wetland of internationalsignificance under the Ramsar Convention in 2003. Stay overnight in thecamp.
Day 7 Tso Moriri Lake - Toskar Lake - Leh (235 km / 8-9 hours)
Afteran early breakfast on day 7, start driving to Leh via Tsokar Lake. Onthe way, take a halt to visit Puga Geo-Thermal Gas springs, visiting theNomadic Rebo tents at Polo-kongka pass, and further after the pass,stop by Tsokar Lake - a wetland area. Stop here for photographs. If youare interested, you can also visit the monastery of tiny Thukje village.Overnight stay in hotel in leh Overnight stay.
Day 8 Leh - Uleytokpo (82 km / 2-3 hours)
Afterbreakfast, today you start driving to Ulley Resort from Leh. On theway, visit the great statue of Maitreya Buddha in the Likir monasteryand the 1000 -year old murals of Alchi monastery, listed among the bestBuddhist miniature paintings. Continue your road journey. Finally, youarrive Uley. Check-in at the resort/hotel. After completing theformalities, you can simply relax. Stay overnight.
Day 9 Uleytokpo
Theday is going to be full of action. Your first visit is to region withLunar landscapes- an area that is similar to the land condition of Moon.After this, you visit Lamayuru Monastery- one of the largest and oldestmonasteries in Ladakh, it houses wall paintings, thangkas, murals, oldscriptures and various statues of different forms of Buddha as well asother deities. Next you explore Rizong Nunnery- residence of 40 monks,this monastery was constructed in 1831 by the great Lama Tsultim Nima(130 km round trip / 6-7 hours). If you want, you can also enjoy a dayhike to Rizong village (around 2-3 hours) or a go for a short hike toGera-Lardo village across Indus River. Overnight stay at Uleytokpo.
Day 10 Uleytokpo - Leh (70km / 2-3 hours)
Today,you start driving back to Leh. On the way, halt to visit SpitukMonastery- also known as Pethup Gompa, it was founded in the 11thcentury; Magnetic Hill or the gravity hill-a natural wonder of theregion and the Military Hall of Fame- a museum and memorial of the warheroes that is established and managed by the Indian Army. Lateafternoon arrival in Leh. As the rest of the day is free, you canindulge in some last minute shopping at the popular markets of Leh suchas Moti market, Balkhang chowk for apricot and Super Market. Overnightstay at Hotel.
Day 11 Leh - Delhi. (Departure)
In the morning, get an assisted transfer to the airport to board flight for Delhi.
