Manimahesh Kailash Yatra Schedule 2018
Manimahesh Kailash Yatra Sachdule 2018 will be held from Krishna Janashtami to Radhashtami. Official dates of Yatra may be increased by Manimahesh Yatra Trust as they had increased the period of holy Yatra from 15 days to one month in 2016 and 2017. If this year period of Manimahesh Yatra is not increased then Manimahesh Yatra will be held as it has been scheduled traditionally, where Chhota Shahi snan is held on Janashtami and Bada Shahi Snan on Radhashtami. Even if official period of Yatra is increased to one or two months by the Trust still dates of Chota Snan and Bada Snan will remain the same.

Manimahesh Yatra is holy pilgrimage to home of lord Shiva and on this ocassion people from all over the country come to Manimahesh to take holy bath in Manimahesh lake and catch a glimpse of Manimahesh Kailash.
We start taking people for Manimahesh Yatra trek from June onwards and until october. Manimahesh Yatra by horse or pony will be available from July onwards. Devotees of Lord Shiva start visiting Manimahesh From May onwards and keep on visiting Manimahesh untill end of October. Few pilgrims or trekking enthusiasts also visit Manimahesh Lake in month of April and in November. In April there is lot of snow at Manimahesh Lake and in November there are chances of heavy snowfall at Manimahesh.
Manimahesh yatra is considered one of the most important yatra as it is believed that Lord Shiva chose to stay mountain manimahesh kailash after marrying Godess Parvati at Mansarovar lake. Every year 6-7 lakhs of pligrims visit manimahesh kailash to take Lord shiva's blessings.
Number of pilgrims who visited Manimahesh in 2013 was significantly low due to fear of what happened during Kedarnath. However there was heavy rush of pilgrims visiting manimahesh in 2014.
Crowd at Bharmour during manimahesh yatra was so overwhelming that there was huge traffic congestion and some time it took more than 3-4 hours for vehicles to move a km around Bharmour.
During Jamaashtami in 2014, Bharmour was so crowded that few people didn't even get place to sleep and food to eat. Large number of people had to sleep in the vehicles and some spent the night searching for a place to sleep.
Weather remained mostly well during Manimahesh Yatra in 2013 and people didn't face any difficulties in Yatra. Weather in October was very good at Bharmour and Manimahesh.
Many pilgrims visited manimahesh in month of October and were very satisfied with the ease of Yatra during this period. Manimahesh Yatra was mostly popular among north Indians but now people from all over India have started coming to Manimahesh. Increased number of interenet users has helped in spreding importance of Manimahesh Yatra in India. In 2016 number of people visiting was around 2-3 lakhs.
